Proton Holdings has ended negotiations with Volkswagen (VW) and General Motors for a possible alliance as the fortunes of Proton in terms of sales and exports are improving, Khazanah said in a statement. Second Finance Minister Tan Sri Nor Mohamed Yakcop said that Proton has been allowed to operate on its own without a foreign strategic partner for the time being.
- Nor Mohamed said VW was naturally disappointed but respected the decision. He said VW did not walk away from the negotiations nor was there any breakdown in the talks.
- Explaining the rationale to allow Proton to stand on its own, Nor Mohamed said the turnaround seen at Proton in recent months was real. As such, the earlier assumptions that Proton has to have a foreign partner to stay afloat are no longer applicable.
- Given the changed scenario and transformation at Proton, the timing for a foreign partner is therefore not right at present. He, however, said the government will not dismiss the possibility of Proton having strategic alliances with foreign partners in the future when the time is more appropriate and this will also be premised on the fact that Proton will be negotiating from a stronger position. 我一直很相信“物以类聚，人以群分”这道理 所以我们跟很亲近的朋友亲人情人 - 总有很相象的想法，眼神，口头禅，饮食习惯，兴趣 至相互的默契。总会在互动之中影响和学习到对方 一点一滴，好的坏的，有的没的。
若“类聚”和“群分”这回事，是出自逼不得 的呢？
回想自己刚刚和B的对话，想说糟了。发现自己 那嚣张的态度，跟那工作上必须天天接触却很讨人厌 家伙实在没两样。那我有没有就越来越像他了？
开始被困扰：1）我也太没自我风格了 2）我要抗衡那可恶的自己。
